Would you want someone else punished for your own crimes?

No. I wouldn't. However that's one of the greatest testimonies of Yahshua (a.k.a. Jesus Christ). He didn't want to take the punishment but, he was obedient to our Elohim, YAHWEH. Praise His Holy name. We are all guilty but all praise to YAH (JUDGE of judges) for sending us a sacrifice.
