Question for anyone who has fiddler crabs..?

Do fiddler crabs need plenty of space to walk on land because I have a tall aquarium with rocks at the top he climb on is that enough because I caught him trying to crawl up the filter? Is my tall aquarium unfit for fiddler crabs?
