Should i date my best friend?

im 14. im in my school's girls chorus and this one day we were watching "matchmaker" from "fiddler on the roof" and my friends said that 'the next guy who walked into this room is missy's' well, go figure the next class is mixed chorus (guys&girls in my grade) so the first GUY who walked in was a guy we can call George (that's not his name...). so my friends called me "mrs. george" (well, not.....forget it, you understand) and now i hear he likes me. and i like him. he's had a crush on this one kinda pretty girl and now he's trying to choose between me or that girl... in the meantime, he and i are now best friends. should i tell him to go with the other girl or...? if he asks me, should i date him?
