Why are people so critical or concerned with my college major?

Some of the majors that you mention are "no skills" majors. By "no skills" I mean that you are not taught a marketable skill so that with just a BA it is almost impossible to get a starting position in the field even if you are a brilliant person. My original degree was in Psychology and I was never able to get a job using it. I had to get a teaching credential. I do not think that people are criticizing the major because you are not learning, they are criticizing it because you cannot easily get a job with it.
