Why are conservatives so negative?

They seem to be in full negativity mode. You never hear them say good things about the USA. Why? Do they think or hope to use negativity to draw people to their cause and win the election next year? I remember when Clinton was in office it was the same thing…negative negative negative. No one is perfect and it amazes me that those being so negative today were able to see and rightly criticize the negativity thrown at George W., only a few years ago. But somehow they seem ok with being negative now. What gives?
