Does my aqurium filter needs to be on 24 hours?

Funny you say this...I actually bought another fish tank for my room to drown out the noise of the interstate next to my house...Filters should never be turned off unless they absolutely have to be. Filters are what keeps everything alive... You will eventually get used to the noise. Your fish will live longer and will be happier with the filter running full time. If your filter is really that loud, then perhaps it is time for a new one hm?
